Fashion Is What You’re Offered. Style Is What YOU Pick Out Of The Fashion.

Personally, I enjoy different styles of fashion. I can go from elegant to edgy and even sport a rocker style.  If the truth shall be told...I love, and I mean LOVE putting clothes and accessories together!  I totally enter into a different zone which relaxes, but excites me, when I see something that would look fabulous on a woman. When this happens, I start brainstorming about putting different pieces together.  I regularly post my pairings on Instagram (IG). Follow the @nakais_closet IG and you will see what I mean.  I love lively colors, but I also love black as well. It’s just something about's sleek and sexy!  I've had a few people tell me, I should be a stylist and it has crossed my mind...LOL!

In my opinion, when deciding on what style of fashion you like, the first thing you should do is be sure the clothes flow with your body type. Select the right cut, color and pattern.  Make sure the shoes you select are well fitted and comfortable. I know they say fashion hurts, but more power to those folks! My feet will hurt for no one! LOL! After you have selected your clothing, select your accessories (earrings, bracelets, necklaces...etc). Never be afraid to double up on bracelets, or necklaces. Layered looks are always stunning and unique.  If you are really busy with work, or the kids, put some time aside during the week to select your wardrobe for a few days. Much like meal prepping, this actually helps out a lot when life is pulling you in many different directions. Some people may feel like they don’t have the right clothes, or shoes, but all you have to do is look into your closet closely.  There is always something you can pair together to create a new look!

I was on Instagram recently and came across a comment that Gayle King (@gayleking) posted, which simply stated; “Fashion?” Ha! I love her. Gayle is such a smart and classy lady. She purchased this amazing classic vintage, white button up jacket two years ago.  However, she wanted to know if she should keep it or not. Some of her followers said she should pass it along and some said keep it. I commented and told her to keep the jacket and style it differently.

Since that post, I got inspired and started putting together wardrobe ideas.  I immediately decided to put together an entire look that incorporated her jacket.  Check out the look below, and let me know what you think.  Maybe I’ll have the opportunity to style Gayle King with accessories from Nakai’s Closet in the near future! :)
